Recipe Of The Week: 10 Practical Uses For Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Following our post on The Best Essential Oil For Flu & Colds, here are 10 great ways to get the most of out using Eucalyptus Essential Oil:

  1. Add several drops to laundry water to control dust mites in clothing and bedding.
  2. For cold, flu, coughs, etc. put a few drops on the soles of both feet before bed. Especially helpful prior to getting sick and just “feeling” the symptoms.
  3. Use ½ teaspoon in 1 pint water for a natural bug repellent for plants. Make sure it’s stirred before using.
  4. Disinfectant cleaner – mix 1.5 oz with 1 quart of water in a bottle and use as with any cleaner. Put it in a spray bottle for an inexpensive way to kill germs and freshen the room (20% solution of eucalyptus and water sprayed in the air will kill 70% of airborne staph bacteria). Add other essential oils like Lemon or Lemongrass for an extra boost of freshness. Shake before each use.
  5. When suffering with a fever, make a cold compress and apply to the forehead, back of neck, over the kidneys and pelvic region. To make the compress just add a few drops of oil to cold water in a bowl. Use a wash cloth or towel and soak in solution, wring out and apply to area.
  6. For coughs, mix 20 drops into 1/3 cup of olive (or any carrier oil) and massage into the chest.
  7. For flees…add a few drops to your dogs bath water or shampoo.
  8. For spas, bathtubs, hot tubs…add a few drops to the water and clean with it to prevent bacteria.
  9. For sticky, gooey residue… apply a few drops and wipe up (sweet orange essential oil works well too).
  10. Keep your family well this flu season…diffuse eucalyptus essential oil every day (especially in the cold climates where the house has a heater going 24 x 7). Add a few drops to your house heater’s filter every week. When vacuuming, put a few drops on the vacuum bag or filter. Add a few drops to the bath water.

  1. Dear Sir/Madam,

I have a Massage Spa and I am interested in Massage oil.
Can you please send me the list of oil and the prices, including the shipping please?

    Regards.

    1. Hi Brenda! You can add a drop of Eucalyptus essential oil to one or two of the leaves or stems or if your Eucalyptus leaves sit in a bowl of water, add the essential oil to the water. You can also make a spray with the Eucalyptus oil combined with water and spritz your leaves. You may have to reapply weekly.

  2. Neat or mixed with Canola oil, Eucalyptus oil can be used as a insect repellent. Blend into 100ml canola oil with 30 drops eucalyptus oil,10 drops of basil oil and 10 drops of citronella oil. Rub over exposed area.

    Best regards!
